Eleni K. Asimakopoulou was born in Athens, Greece in 1985. She received her diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 and her MEng in Computational Mechanics in 2011, all from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She is currently a PhD student at the School of Mechanical Engineering, in the Laboratory of Heterogeneous Mixtures and Combustion Systems at NTUA. Current research interests include fire safety engineering, computational and experimental investigation of fire spreading in buildings and facade systems, impact of phase change materials in fire development, material properties in high temperatures and solid reaction kinetics. She has worked as a researcher in National and EU-funded FP7 projects in the field of fire simulation, design and testing. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS).
